Start of project implementation

On May 1, 2023, we began the implementation of the project “Investments in Digital Technological Solutions for Managing the Cargo Port Towards the Digital Transformation of LUKA d.d.” Below are the key details of the project:

PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

The strategic goals of the digital transformation and key performance indicators are as follows:

  • Maximizing profit

  • Increasing customer satisfaction and employee efficiency

  • Strengthening the market position in target markets (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina)

  • Expanding logistics capacities

  • Strengthening the brand

PROJECT SUMMARY:

LUKA d.d. faces challenges due to a lack of automation and optimization in daily operations, which affects the efficiency of business processes in achieving maximum operational capacity. Since the company cannot physically expand within the North Port of Split, the goal of the project is to carry out a digital transformation to address the identified problems and challenges.

This will result in more efficient business processes, enabling faster cargo turnover and maximizing the use of existing capacities. The project’s target groups include the company and its employees, as well as business partners and suppliers.

Contract for development signed

As part of the project, on February 26, 2024, a contract was signed for the development and implementation of digital solutions and technologies, as well as for strengthening employees’ digital skills. This marked the beginning of the company’s digital transformation and the digitalization of business processes.

The contract also includes 21 hours of training for a total of 40 employees, which will enhance their digital skills and provide a foundation for the successful implementation of the digital transformation.

Employee training sessions have begun

We have started a cycle of 7 training sessions, each lasting 3 hours, for the implementation and use of the business information system for cargo port management.

These training sessions will strengthen employees’ digital skills and provide a foundation for the successful implementation of digital transformation.

The first training session, lasting 3 hours, was held yesterday, April 1, 2025, and was conducted by Ivana Milovac Danolić from the company TECH RESOURCES d.o.o.

Successful completion of the project implementation

Today, May 1, 2025, we successfully completed the implementation of the project “Investments in Digital Technological Solutions for Managing the Cargo Port Towards the Digital Transformation of LUKA d.d.”

Through this project, we successfully carried out the digitalization of business operations by developing and implementing a business information system – ERP software for cargo port management.

The software enabled the development of a digital business model and strengthened employee capacity for implementing business digitalization, ensuring further growth and development of operations as well as the ability to respond to the challenges of increasing competitiveness and resilience.

The delivery of the business information system and employee training was carried out by the service provider TECH RESOURCES d.o.o. A total of 7 training sessions were held for 40 employees, each lasting 3 hours, amounting to a total of 21 training hours.

Additionally, the project included the procurement of a server computer, which was essential for storing ERP software data.

By digitalizing our operations, we have increased the company’s competitiveness and improved business efficiency, optimizing the following key production and business processes: production planning, procurement, sales, logistics, accounting and finance, and reporting.

All of the above will significantly contribute to and impact the growth of our business.
