Terminals

Bulk Cargo Terminal

The bulk cargo terminal covers 21,600 m2, of which 10,000 m2 is open and 11,600 m2 closed storage area.

The length of the operational shore is 550 m, and the depth of the sea at all berths is 10.3 m.

The loads that are most often manipulated are: sugar, coal, salt, cereals, fertilizer.

In addition to regular handling of cargo transhipment, additional activities such as sorting, palletizing, bagging, and weighing cargo are performed at the terminal.

The terminal is connected to the railway and road network of the Republic of Croatia, therefore addition to storing goods, it is possible to perform direct manipulation of goods from and into wagons and trucks.

Port of Split possesses ISO 9001: 2015 and HACCP certificates, as well as safety certificate for railway infrastructure management, which is a guarantee of quality and safe transhipment and storage of all our goods.

General Cargo Terminal

At the general cargo terminal we are able to manipulate various types of cargo such as wood, stone, iron profiles, sheet metal, coils, bags, pipes, and large pieces of cargo up to 100 tons in weight such as yachts, ships, crane parts, windmill parts, etc.

At the terminal it is possible to perform loading and unloading of containers, wagons and trucks in addition to transhipment of cargo.

Container Terminal

Container terminal is located in the eastern part of the Port of Split. The length of the berth is 200 m with a depth of 10.3 m. The terminal has a 100-tons capacity Liebherr LHM 320 crane and container manipulators with a capacity of 40 tons.

At the terminal we can embark and disembark all types of ships up to 200 m in length and up to 30 m in width. The Port of Split is connected to most of the world’s ports with a weekly feeder service that enables fast and affordable transport of goods to and from Split.

The feeder service makes the handling of containers rational due to a much shorter time of delivery of the containers to the final destinations thanks to the frequent arrival of ships in the port.

Ro-Ro terminal

In the transport of ro-ro cargo in maritime transport, the basic feature is boarding, which is performed in a horizontal direction. The cargo is loaded on the ship horizontally via a ship’s ramp that connects the storage space and the operational shore with its own drive or is transported to the place intended for stacking. Fastening is done together with the means of transport in case it remains on the ship during transport.

Reception and dispatch of ro-ro cargo to and from the ship is performed in the following ways:

  • self-propelled road vehicles;
  • trailers used in road traffic;
  • ro-ro trailers, which are often part of the ship’s equipment;
  • forklifts and various types of means of transport equipped according to the characteristics of the cargo
